thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!

These are the things I'm most thankful for.

My husband and our awesome marriage.

Our furbaby Charlie.

Our wonderful families.

My amazing friends.

Our beautiful home and shelter over heads.

My job as a RN at this awesome facility. I may complain at times, but I wouldn't want to do anything else. It's a wonderful privilege to take care of people during their most vulnerable of times.

Traveling.

Food to fill our bellies. And my hubby who cooks for me. (pic from Thanksgiving 2009)

God's beautiful creation.

And most of all thankful to my Lord and Savior.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 107

rise with us

I love this new spot light sign outside of the Rose Garden

Despite the loss to Utah, we still had a great time at the Blazer game tonight. It was Faith & Family night which means radio station 104.1 The Fish puts on a little concert after the game. We stayed after for a little while to listen to Jimmy Needham perform. On our way out of the Rose Garden, we walked right by Armon Johnson #1 rookie on the team. It took me a few seconds to register who it was and by then we were already passed him. Darn! I did smile at him though :)

This wasn't the only Blazer sighting of the day. While we were out and about running errands today we stopped by Shane Co. to get my ring cleaned. Across the street there was a grand opening for some new electronic store (Ultimate Electronics?). Anyways, Nate wanted to go in to see if they had any good deals so we stopped by to take a look. And who did we see?
Mr. Clyde Drexler himself.

I was a bit tempted to stand in the enormous line, but I didn't have anything for him to sign and we had to get going so we could go to the Blazer game. I know, I know... I'm such Blazer fan nerd. :)

Lonny lusts

Finally got around to browsing the Oct/Nov issue of Lonny.

Can you imagine having this for your "backyard" overlooking Central Park?

I'm kinda digging these papier mache animal heads from Anthro

loving these Ralph Lauren Pink Pony wellies and 10% goes to breast cancer research

Great storage. Stylish white Veneto suitcases from ZGallerie

Chalkboard Globe . This could be a very simple DIY project. Just might have to find myself an old globe to paint. :)

Awesome flip clock. The price... not so much.

Lomography Diana + Dreamer Camera. This is so going on my Christmas list.

peacock mirror

Back in August I was at Pier 1 and found this amazing Peacock/honeycomb mirror on sale for $150. They only had the floor model left that had a couple of scuff marks on the edge and two of the little mirrors missing. I asked if they could give me a discount for the small damages, and they sold it to me for $120! Score!
It now sits above above our mantel in the living room.
I still need to find 2 little mirrors to fix it.

There are some other lovely Peacock mirrors around, but I prefer the Pier 1 price.
Wisteria $2399
Mecox $4400

I love me a good deal! :)

new additions

Here are some new decor additions to the house.

I purchased these shelves from West Elm for the family room a few months ago but just kept putting off hanging them. I love them! I still need to find stuff to put on them, but for now I just scrounged up some random things around the house. I think I might hang the picture thats leaning against the wall underneath the shelve in that blank space.
We went to Ikea a few nights ago, and this amazing chunky mirror came home with us. They were clearing these out, so we got it for 50% off.  It's a nice filler for this random little hall space before the powder room & craft room.

This sheepskin also came home with us from Ikea. So soft!

We purchased this shoe storage cabinet at the beginning of summer from Ikea, but had an issue with it because our trim was too tall for it. So I finally got around to making a little riser for it so that it fits flush against the wall. I think it looks great in the entryway, not to mention functional! Now I need to decide how I want to accessorize around it.
I really wanted to do 2 of the cabinets, but it wouldn't fit in our entryway.

6th man

Felt good to be back at the Rose Garden to support our Blazers last night. Nate found a deal on 1/2 season tickets (20 games) for only $200. Although they are nosebleeds seats, for $5 a ticket it is cheap entertainment and so much fun!!! Go Blazers!

charlie brown

Charlie loves her some snuggles
and I think she's a little depressed at the outcome of the Blazer game.

It's a beautiful day...

... in the neighborhood.

The last few days have been beautiful fall days and I'm soaking it up!

This photo was taken while on a walk with my Charlie girl.
Our neighborhood has gorgeous views of the hills/vineyards!
Especially this time of year!

dressing up...

a $1 store pillow.

Remember these pillows I found at the Dollar Tree yesterday.

I thought the solid yellow pillow needed a little flare.

Inspired by this tutorial at Dollar Store Crafts. I grabbed some felt I had on hand from another project I'm working on, a yellow button, safety pin, scissors, and the hot glue gun. Took me all of ten minutes to complete.

The results:

So simple & so cute!

lotus candleholder

I've had this 3 piece lotus candleholder from CB2 on my radar for a while now. Such a cute addition for a shelf or tray!

I held off on hitting the "buy" button because I thought I could possibly find something similar at Target or somewhere cheaper. This weekend at the antique show I found this green lotus tealight holder for $1.

I cleaned it up and added a couple of coats of white spray paint I had on hand.  Just took me a few minutes to do and it is kind of similar to the one I wanted from CB2 but for $1 instead of $15.
(the tray was found on clearance at Pier 1 a few weeks ago)
