Tonight we had a date night in Portland. We both grew up about 25 minutes from downtown, and it seemed so much more natural to go downtown. Now it sort of feels like a foreign country when we go there. It's not like we live that much further now, but it's just far enough that we just don't seem to go often enough anymore.
Speaking of "foreign country", one of the main reasons I wanted to go downtown tonight was to see the Festival of Flowers at Pioneer Courthouse Square. The floral design was in the shape of this massive world map... and I'm a sucker for cool maps.
We had a great time just sitting in the square, and dreaming/brainstorming of our next destinations. After seeing the "world", we did a little shopping at H&M, and then went to D-Street noshery for our favorite food-truck KOI Fusion. There was some serious noshing going on. Mmm... To finish our lovely date night off we went to see the new flick Super 8. It was intense! And we may or may not have snuck into the I-MAX theater... Nate is such a bad influence. It was a wonderful night!
