9.11 Remember

Where were you?
(photo taken on Staten Island Ferry on 09/11/10)

It is hard to believe that 9/11 tragedy was 10 years ago, but I still remember that day like it was yesterday...

I was a junior in high school and I remember waking up early that morning for school. My parents were getting ready for work, and they had the radio on as they always did in the morning, and they told me that a plane just crashed into the World Trade Center in NYC. I decided to turn on the TV to watch the news. At that point only the first tower had been hit, and as I watched the live news coverage on the screen, I saw a plane go into the second tower. I will never forget that moment. It was both horrifying and confusing. Was America being attacked???

I went to school that day, but as I recall we did not do a whole lot of curricular stuff that day. My heart ached for the people and families who were directly effected from the terrorist attacks, and realized that this was one of those moments in history that will never be forgotten and America will never be the same.

These photos were taken last year when we had the opportunity to go to Ground Zero on 9/11 during our All You Can Jet trip. It was really neat to be there on the 9th anniversary amongst the families and heroes that felt the greatest impact from 9/11.
