February

Since the month of February is practically gone, I figured I should stop being a slacker and update what we've been up to in the last few weeks...

A few weekends ago we went up to Mt. Hood with the family to go sledding. We brought Charlie along and of course she loved every minute of it!

The following weekend we drove up to Seattle to meet our niece, but first we spent the night with our awesome friends Julia and Bobby. I wish they lived closer, they are such wonderful and hospitable people. Our niece Abigail was just over a week old when we met her, and I will admit that I was quite the baby hog. She is such a bundle of cuteness!

My nephew Calvin and I had some fun playing with the iPhone. He loves to see pictures or videos of himself. So cute!

On the 12th we celebrated my 26th birthday. Nate took me out to my favorite restaurant The Rheinlander for dinner. Such a fun and romantic place!

This last weekend we had some beautiful sunny weather and took a drive in the 350Z.  Definitely gave me spring fever for sure!

I've also got a couple of fun craft projects that I started last week. I'm hoping to finish on my 4 day weekend, but here is a little sneak peek of the projects.

In other news... we are going to be trying out for The Amazing Race at the casting call in Portland this Saturday. Wish us luck!

I love this song... Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.

Especially when sung by this Father-Daughter Duo. So Cute!

"home is wherever I'm with you..."

Life...

A little perspective for a Friday morning...

"tree huggers"

While browsing Pinterest I came across this creepy tree face photo...
 via

which took me back to some funny memories with tree faces...
(at my friend Carlee's Parent's house, 2007)

... and I'm pretty sure this tree in Sunriver didn't know what was coming for him. (2006)

Apparently us Oregonians are a bunch of "tree huggers".

CameraBag

I love finding new apps for my iPhone. Especially photography ones!

CameraBag has 13 different photo filters that are instantly applied when you snap a photo. All you have to do is quickly swipe between the different camera filters to view the different styles. Very cool!

Any guess who the pups are?

Well Charlie and her siblings of course. Charlie was the only chocolate lab out of 11 pups.

And just in case you haven't had enough of the cuteness...
 Charlie and her momma.
Charlie and the breeder. She was so tiny!

Last weekend the breeders that we bought Charlie from emailed us and asked for some updated photos of Charlie. We sent them pictures, and they sent us a few of "Emma" (Charlie's name before we got her). So much cuteness! I wish they stayed that little forever.

a day at the coast

Two weekends ago we took a road trip to the coast to hang out with my sister for the day. And what a beautiful day it turned out to be!

Nate & Charlie playing in the ocean at Neskowin. This was just a few minutes prior to a big sneaker wave taking them down. Nate was soaked! It wasn't funny at the time but we laughed about it for the rest of the day.
Charlie and Tucker (Kelsey's new dog) got to meet for the first time. My mom calls them her "hairy grandkids".
After Neskowin, we drove to Lincoln City, shopped around at the Outlets (bought Nate a dry t-shirt, haha), and then had chowder at Mo's. There had been flooding the week before so the beach was covered in logs and branches.
But the sunshine was out and everyone was taking advantage of some natural vitamin D.

pinterest-ing

A couple of weeks ago I discovered Pinterest...

Pin·terest (pĭn'trĭst): n. a social catalog to collect and share things you love

I love this site because it allows me to collect cool inspiration photos that I find on-line and categorize the photos into "pin-boards", and also browse through other "pins" that people find inspiring. Caution: this site can be quite addicting.

These are some of my favorite "pins" lately:
(haha! so true!)
